Now, creating a new bundle takes approximately 30 seconds. They simply envision the package they require and create it within the app – no physical bundles need to be stocked. Looking ahead, we can confidently state that the tool has boosted sales and saved them significant labor costs associated with physical bundle creation in the warehouse.
To develop a bundle sales strategy, we initiated an analysis to identify the most in-demand products. We compiled a list of the top ten best-selling items and then explored which other products were frequently purchased alongside them. Bundles were then curated based on these findings. Additionally, our approach to bundle creation relied on common sense. For instance, customers purchasing barbells would also require plates; hardly anyone buys just barbells. Leveraging our collective business experience, together with McSport, we curated the optimal bundles, drawing upon their inherent knowledge of potential bundle combinations.
After creating bundles, it's crucial to monitor their performance on a weekly basis. Which sets were the top sellers? Which sets failed to sell? By utilizing a weekly report of this nature, it becomes straightforward to assess the success of each package and identify opportunities for improvement. Using this data, new trends were identified and experiments were conducted with less popular products. This approach resulted in a significant increase in the average order value by at least 50%. Depending on seasonality, this increase could be even more pronounced.
As previously mentioned, McSport had physical bundles that occupied considerable space in the warehouse. Creating these bundles required coordination across multiple departments, including purchasing and warehouse management, to ensure availability and assembly. With the new app, physical sets are no longer necessary. This has not only increased sales but also eliminated many of the labor costs associated with creating physical bundles.
